This blog is a guide to the Mizzou Natural Hair Summit spring 2013 and beyond. The Mizzou Natural Hair Summit was created at the University of Missouri, for African American women in college to engage in a social hour, composed of discussions about the journey of becoming natural. Most importantly the event includes an educational segment that will teach attendees about proper hair maintenance. Being “natural" has become the "it" hair trend, that African American women are choosing to wear, and it is now popular at college/universities. This event will be used to stress that being natural is not just a trend, but that it is a part of a lifestyle that allows someone to freely express who they are. Ultimately these young women will leave feeling passionate and comfortable with their hair.
